| Dear Abbot
Yesudas,
I am happy to learn that Kurisumala Ashram is celebrating the
Golden Jubilee of its establishment. It is so fitting that you are
bringing out a souvenir to mark the occasion. I do appreciate this
venture of yours and congratulate everyone who toils to make this a
reality.
The
Kurisumala Ashram life is a luminous example of the way in which love of
God is translated into love of our fellow men and nature. It plays
a prominent role in forming the conscience of the humankind. Love
of God is manifested to the humankind through the life of the
Sanyasis. This love of God is the foundation of the Ashram and
its life and mission.
My
predecessor Most Rev. Zacharias Mar Athanasios of venerable memory
established the Kurisumala Monastery. It is a blessed place from
where divine praises, thanksgiving and supplications ascend to the
Almighty God. It is a community of spiritual seekers who
concentrate on prayer and work. In a world of materialism and
globalization their life of renunciation, humility, obedience and
poverty are really praiseworthy and an example to others. They are
spreading the fragrance of love of God through their daily life.
With great
joy we appreciate the presence of the Ashram and its activities in our
Archdiocese. It has given a true leadership for mingling Indian
asceticism with Christian religious life. It is oriental in
spirit, Indian in its life and Malankara in its worship and
catholic in its precepts. On this occasion I recall with great
appreciation the far-sighted vision and great thoughts of Late Francis
Acharya, a Prophet of true Love of God and nature. He tried to
assimilate the words of Jesus Christ in Indian culture. It is our
task to continue the vision of this great sage and spiritual guru.
I
congratulate you all and wish you the best and pray that the Heavenly
Father may shower His blessings abundantly on Abbot Yesudas and all
the members of the community. God bless you all!
